Course Overview and Materials
This course will help you build skills for practical application of English Language Arts in your personal or working life. In this course, you will study and create various types of English text. Texts for the course include short stories, non-fiction, poetry, a modern play, a novel, visuals, and a film. You are required to use Proctorio remote supervision software for assessments in this class. You are not permitted to use Artificial Intelligence tools in any capacity in this course, including extensions such as Grammarly. In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS recommends a minimum of 50% in English 10-2 or 40% in English 10-1. If you did not complete English Language Arts in high school, or it’s been a long time since you’ve taken an English Language Arts class, please contact the teacher for more guidance as to what the best fit is for your current knowledge and skills.
You are responsible for providing your own copy of the film for study in Unit 7.
