Course Overview and Materials
Explore the rich world of English Literatures. In this course, you will study and create various types of English text. Texts for the course include non-fiction, short stories, poetry, a Shakespearean play, a novel, a modern play, and film. This course is designed for students interested in pursuing university or college programs. You are required to use Proctorio remote supervision software for assessments in this class. You are not permitted to use Artificial Intelligence tools in any capacity in this course, including extensions such as Grammarly. In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS recommends a minimum of 65% in English 10-1 or 70% in English 20-2. If you have a -2 background or did not complete English Language Arts in high school, or it’s been a long time since you’ve taken an academic English Language Arts class, it’s recommended you begin at the 10-1 level. Please contact the teacher for more guidance as to what the best fit is for your current knowledge and skills.
