Course Overview and Materials
This course is an introductory course preparing students to enter the -1 and -2 sequences of high school mathematics.
Due to the short time frame of summer session, expect to be working on the course 5 to 7 hours each day for the month of July. Vacations or full-time jobs should not be taken during this time.
Math 10C contains five Proctorio supervised assessments:
Unit 2 Test
Unit 3/4 Test
Unit 5/6 Test
Unit 7/8 Test
Final Exam
*To write a Proctorio supervised assessment students must have a computer or laptop with a microphone and a webcam. An external webcam on a stand is preferred as the camera view must show a student from their hands to their head at all times during the assessment.
The Final Exam must be written in order to receive credit for the course.
Each mandatory unit has a unit assignment for marks and optional practice quizzes that are not for marks.
Assignment Closing Deadlines (3pm MST):
Unit 2 - Surface Area and Volume: July 3
Unit 3 - Trigonometry: July 7
Unit 4 - Exponents and Radicals: July 9
Unit 5 - Polynomials: July 14
Unit 6 - Relations and Functions: July 16
Unit 7 - Equations and Graphs of Linear Relations: July 21
Unit 8 - Systems of Linear Equations: July 23
There are no exemptions or extensions to the assignment closing deadlines.
Unit 1 - Measurement is optional and can be accessed after a student has completed the mandatory units. Students will not be assessed on the optional unit.
In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS requires a minimum grade of 65% in Mathematics 9, or 70% in Mathematics 10-3, or 65% in Mathematics 20-3 or 30-3.
