Course Overview and Materials
This course is intended to be completed by students who are repeating English 30-1 to apply to post-secondary programs. It is an intense, demanding, and rigorous course as outlined by Alberta Education. Expect to be working on the course 5 to 7 hours each day for the month of July. Vacations or full-time jobs should not be taken during this time. You will explore a variety of texts to showcase your understanding of how the English Language is used to convey thoughts and emotions.
There are 22 assignments of varying length and type, including multiple timed, remotely-supervised assignments. There is no final exam for this course other than the 2-part Alberta Diploma Exam. In order for a student to be successful in this course, VVS requires a minimum of 65% in the prerequisite course.
You are responsible for providing your own copy of the required film. VVS does not stock films.
This course requires the film Away From Her (2006).
