When a merge is complete on PeerSpot, an email is triggered 24 hours later as a reminder to merge the account sin SalesForce as well.
The email looks like this:
Once a month, the Listings Team member will merge these accounts in SalesForce. This is done in two places: on SalesForce and On Cloudingo.
First, we find the account on SalesForce (using the SFintegration Account). We want to make sure the Parent ID matches the ID for which the vendor was merged into (in this case, Mandient (ID 32648) was merged into Google (ID 7350). So the parent ID should show as 7350. We also want to ensure that for the Parent account (in this example, Google) the ID is marked correctly as 7350. On the Mandient SF page in the "Parent or Child?" field we will enter the value "2" to show that this is the child, and on the Google SalesForce page the "Parent or Child?" field will contain the value "1". Here is the Mandient page on SalesForce:
And to show the difference, here is the Google Vendor page on SalesForce:
Once we have correctly marked the parent and child vendors in SalesForce, we will go to Cloudingo to finalize the merge and have it sync correctly to SalesForce. On the "Account" tab, we will find the "Acquired Accounts" option.
Click on the "view results" option to be brought to the results. You will notice the group name will be the PeerSpot Parent vendor ID:
When you click on the red arrow, the details for both accounts will appear. We want to ensure the Mandient account info will be overrun by the Google account info. In the second column, you can see a preview of what the vendor information will look like once the merge is finalized. We want to check that if the billing country is not the United States, that the "State" field is left empty. We also want to ensure the "Employee Current" field is reflected correctly. We don't want Google (in this example) to have the "Employee Current" value change from 329,025 to the 1,393 that is shows for Mandient.
Once all looks OK, click "Merge" or "Merge and Load Next" (when there are more than one merge on the list).
Once the merge is complete, the child vendor will be deleted from SalesForce and merged into the parent.
