Creating a List Value Mapper (Translation Function)
NOTE: This is for Premium Site Leads programs only if the customer’s integration type is via Integrate.
Once the source ID has been created and added to the PeerSpot Integrate account, the customer’s fields will have already been created along with any lists and/or validations.
For any field which has been defined as a list type field will have the option for a mapper to be created for it. It will look like this:
Instances where a mapper needs to be created is when the PeerSpot values need to be in the vendor’s naming convention and they differ from PeerSpot’s and when it’s a required field.
Example: Palo Alto needs a specific naming convention for the Job Level field.
The vendor’s allowed values will appear in the “List Value” column.
The PeerSpot internal field values, which directly correspond to the vendor’s values, should be added to the “Map To Value” column.
Once the list has been saved:
For every list value on the vendor’s side which has been mapped to a PeerSpot value, will have a duplicate value with the vendor’s exact value mapped to it (in the Map To Value column):
NOTE: Sometimes, multiple PeerSpot values will match with 1 of the customer’s values. Every PeerSpot value needs to correspond to a vendor's list value.
It’s possible to map each list value to more than 1 PeerSpot value:
Add one of the PeerSpot values to the vendor’s value.
Hover over the newly added PeerSpot value and click on the plus icon.
