In writing, we are going to begin writing our chapters but before we do that, we are going to spend a little bit of time checking out how other writers start writing their chapters. Check out this video to see how I look at the way writers start their chapters. This will help you with your writing activity today. Please do this activity before you do writing today!

Writers will begin drafting today! Egyptologists will choose one of their topics of interest to draft. When writers start a chapter, they should begin with a topic sentence that names the subject and interests the reader:
Start with a sound word
Ask the reader a question
Jump right in with an interesting or surprising fact
Today's goal is to pick one topic, then try all the topic sentence strategies to see how you want to start this chapter. Please write down a few sentences to begin this chapter. Then, you are done for today!
