Yesterday, we worked on retelling parts of a non-fiction book in our own words. This is an important thing to do because it helps us to understand what we are reading better. Another way to do this is to do something called Shrink the Text. When you shrink something, you make it smaller. Today, I am going to teach you how to shrink a big text into a your own words so you can make sure that you understand what you are reading better. Check out the video to see how I do this while I am reading a nonfiction book.
Now it’s your turn. Take a paragraph from your reading. Read it, then try to say it in your own words. Write it in your notebook. Try this for at least 3 paragraphs!

Today we will be writing a restaurant review. Think of a place that you love to go to eat or order food from. What did you love about it?
When you write your restaurant review be sure to include:
The name of the restaurant.
Where the restaurant is located.
Your favorite food to order there and why.
What else you like about it. For example: comfy seats, coloring activity on the place mat, etc.
