Whewh! Reading chapter books is hard work. They are longer and have a lot more characters and parts that we have to keep up with. We have been practicing jotting down notes while reading to help us to remember the big parts of the story all year.
Stopping and jotting down notes after each chapter is a helpful tool that makes it easier for us to remember what we have read. Watch how I use my post-it notes to help me to remember what each chapter is about.
Jot down notes at the end of each chapter to remind you of what you have read.
Now that you have four chapters in your Ancient Egypt book, we are ready to start adding some nonfiction features into our book. Today we are going to create a Table of Contents Page!
First, decide the order of your story. Think about the order you want your chapters in.
Next, put page numbers on each page.
Finally, decide on your chapter titles. You may want to change them and get creative. Your chapter titles will be in order on top of each chapter and on the Table of Contents Page.
Remember, every word in a title gets a capital letter!
