Sometimes, especially when we are reading nonfiction books, we come across new words that might be hard to say. We have been practicing different tricks to help us to decode (or figure out) these words. Check out this video to see how I tackle words that I do not know how to read.
Now it’s your turn. When you’re reading any book, it is important to remember these tricks to help you to figure out what that tricky word is! Stop and jot these new words on a post-it!

Writers will go back to the chapter they drafted last week. It should include a topic sentence, facts, and details.
Today, your job is to draw a picture to go with the chapter. The picture should include labels and a caption.
