This week we are going to start practicing our sight words!
When we get a new list of words, the first thing we do is to look through our words to make sure that we know what each word means. Today, you are going to look at the list of words below and make sure you know what each word means. Any word that you don't know, circle or write down and then ask someone (a friend, someone at home, your teacher) or look it up!
We are going to start something brand new in reading today. You will still continue to write your Ancient Egypt books in writing.
Today, we are going to start thinking about reading chapter books and all that we must do as readers to help us to understand them better. Soon, we are going to start talking to each other about the books we read and sharing our thoughts about those books!
Let's focus on painting a picture in our minds while we read! Watch how I do this while reading one of my favorite books.
Today, your job is to create a picture of what you read in chapter 1 of The BFG! Share it with your teacher or your classmates.
Writers have an important job to go back and reread all the pages draft. Today you are going to read your whole book and while you are reading it, it is okay to make changes so that your book makes sense and is organized. You may notice a word missing or missing punctuation, go ahead and make those fixes to your writing!
Today you will read line plots to answer word problems.
You will complete IXL R9. Either get to 100% or stop at 10 minutes.
Today you will see what mummies are like. At the start of the video, notice the bazaar that the girls run through. This is the primary way people shop in Egypt and you can buy everything you need in one spot by going from store to store. You will get a closer look later in the video. You will also see a view of the capital city of Cairo and see that it is a city like New York City.
