Are you using the glossary in your nonfiction texts to understand the book better? Today, we are going to look into how readers use the glossary to help us to better understand what the author is trying to teach us.
Watch how I do this in the video below. Then, spend some time reading your own nonfiction books. Try to use some of the same strategies that I used.
Hello writers! Today you will keep drafting and you should be on your fourth chapter. Your goal for today is to make sure you are writing in complete sentences.
A complete sentence has...
A noun (person, place, or thing)
A verb (an action word that tells "what" is happening)
Has a capital letter at the beginning.
Has punctuation at the end.
Today you will decide what measuring tool to use to answer questions.
You will complete IXL S13. Either get to 100% or stop at 10 minutes.
Watch the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1HTJSQGjoE of Mrs. Kuehner showing how to make a model of a flower that shows how flowers pull water up their stems. Make a flower like the one in the video, and if you want, share it in the Second Grade Science Lab Flipgrid (https://flipgrid.com/kuehner2) or email a picture to kuehnerd@oradellschool.org.
