When your child logs in, instead of clicking "Level Up", click "Flight Check".
(1) Make sure your child has about 10-15 minutes to be sure there is enough time to complete the whole assessment at once. Once you click "ok" that you have enough time to work on it, it begins recording immediately and your child will read the book. Once they are finished reading your child can click the "stop" button.
(2) The next page there is a "record" button in the middle of the screen and they can click to begin retelling me what they remember from the story. Again, your child clicks stop when they are done.
(3) Finally, the last step is the quiz. Once your child is done, everything will be submitted for me to listen and assess.
**Click the blue "How to record on Raz Kids" button below for assistance!**
Your child has been doing a great job reading the books and taking the quizzes at their level. Please do not assist them during the assessment, besides helping them click through and navigate the website if necessary. Remind your child to try their best and I look forward to hearing them read!"

Some things block light. If you put your hand in some light, it blocks the light and makes a shadow. We call these things opaque, or not see-through.
Some things let light through but change its color. These things are translucent, or sort of see-through.
Other things are transparent - they are completely see-through, like a clear glass.
Today I want you to go on a hunt in your home for things that are opaque (not see-through), translucent (sort of see-through), and transparent (completely see-through.) You’ll need some kind of light - sunshine, a lamp, a flashlight, or the flashlight app on a phone - to test your things.
Choose one of each type, and notice its outline. Does it make a cool shadow? When you look at things from now on, stop and notice if they block light or not. Next time you go outside on a sunny day, see what kinds of shadows you can make with your body. Please share on our flipgrid, or email me a picture. I don’t always have time to reply to every email since I get so many, but I read and enjoy each one.
Please visit the specials classroom site and locate the activity for the day!
