Match the Meaning & Complete the Sentences on pgs. 154-155
Today, we are going to join Annie and Moby as they go back in time and learn about Ancient Egypt. Watch the video twice. The first time you watch it, listen with your ears and eyes. Then, the second time you watch it, jot down a few things that you found interesting. Teach someone at home what you learned about Ancient Egypt.

Lesson: Identifying strategies to use when you are not feeling calm.
Think about times in your day when you might not be feeling calm. Examples: Having a problem with a friend, worried about an assignment, having a disagreement, etc. Think about what you already do to calm down when you are upset. Second graders have already learned some calm- breathing techniques such as flower breathing, the balloon technique, and the counting technique. Calm breathing is one way to get calm.
Activity: Make a list of a few ways to calm down if you feel upset at home. Examples: Get a drink of water, take a walk, listen to music.
Create a poster for your home to remind you of things you can do to calm your body down. Your poster can be colorful if you want it to be. Ask a parent if you are allowed to display it in your home somewhere to remind you of these strategies each day.
The Physical Education Website is up and running! Below is a quick link how to get access to this page. The website can also be reached by going to Mrs. Maiella or Mr. Kelly's teacher pages through the Oradell School website.
Two major items we want you to see as you explore the website:
1. Remote Learning Tab:
This tab is going to explain your assignments each week. Starting this Monday, you have a new assignment.
2. "We're Moving" Tab: Send Mrs. Maiella or Mr. Kelly a picture, drawing, or a short video of you moving and staying active! You can see some of your teachers exercising.
Mrs. Maiella and Mr. Kelly miss you! We hope you are staying safe and enjoying the time with your families.
Take care,
Mrs. Maiella and Mr. Kelly
