2 dice OR create your own number cards (see right)
number line 0 to 20
small toy to "hop"

Place your small toy at 0.
Roll one die and "hop" your toy to that number.
Roll second die and hop that many more spaces to add on.
What number did you land on? This is the sum.
Repeat steps 1 to 4 and see if get a greater number, a number that is less or the same number.
*Bonus- record all the addition sentences you rolled!

Write numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 on a small piece of paper (about the size of half an index card).
Crumple or fold each piece of paper so you cannot see what number it is.
Place these in a cup.
Repeat steps 1 to 3 in a separate cup.
Now you are ready to play!
