This week is Fire Safety week, so we will be doing fire-related activities all week! Today, we learned about another Daily 5 Choice: Read to Someone. They loved sharing their books and love of reading with their friends! We also continued to work through out Handwriting Without Tears book. Here we practice capital and lowercase letter formation. We began creating a firefighter art project. To end the day, we had a PAWS Pride Assembly outside on the blacktop.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. This afternoon we met with the counselor, Mrs. Elliott, and we took the pledge to take a stand against bullying. We completed a pledge paper and listened to the story I'm Not Just a Scribble.
This morning we finished our firefighter craft. They turned out great!
We have been working hard to grow our brains in reading groups. They are doing a great job and are excited each day they get to bring a new book home! We had our first computer lab time in the classroom. We used the Chromebooks and all were able to login and get time to play and explore. This is an amazing accomplishment for us this early in the school year!
Aria and Kinzie had their caramel apple treat in the cafeteria. They earned it with their PAWS Pride tracker at the assembly. To end the day, we used firefighter mats and built towers with unifex cubes.
