Micah turned in his Positive Office Reward and was able to sit at the black tables with three of his friends!
We learned about another kindergarten friend, Avery. We finished our Christmas trees by finger painting snow on them. To create the tree, we put strips of paper in order from longest to shortest lengths.
We had a fun-filled day! We completed a hot chocolate math project, where the students had to roll a dice to fill up their mugs with marshmallows. They then had to write a math sentence to figure out how many marshmallows they had altogether. It was great fun! We sequenced a Christmas story, sorted Christmas nouns, and unscrambled a Christmas sentence. In the afternoon, we had an all school assembly with Bobby Hunt.
In math, they were able to do Christmas math choices. The popular choices are 'Count the Room' and a partner game called 'Race to the North Pole'. We also read the Polar Express and sequenced the events of the story. They did great! We also unscrambled another Christmas sentence. Tomorrow will be our 'Polar Express Day', and each student had to earn their ticket to be able to participate in the activities. We even had a special visitor, Santa!
We had a great last day before Christmas! Our 'Polar Express Day' was a success! We got our very own bell from Santa's sleigh and had hot chocolate and cookies with our Book Buddies. To end our day, we opened our presents, watched the dance team perform, and had a whole school sing along in the gym. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
