Last week, we learned that Emperor Penguins can grow to be 4 feet tall. In math, we have been working on measuring with classroom items and noticing what is shorter and longer. Today, we measured out 4 feet and saw which of us were taller and which of us were shorter than an Emperor Penguin. Most of us were shorter! To end our day, we created Arctic Animals, and we were able to choose to make an Arctic Seal, Arctic Fox, or Arctic Wolf.
We have been learning about animals that hibernate in winter, so we created a Hibernating Bear craft. We added foam snowflakes to make it look like it was snowing! We also created our February Bulletin Board craft. Each student got a different color bear and matching scrapbook paper belly!
We learned about another kindergarten friend, Matthew. Our Arctic Animals and Hibernating Bears are decorating the hallway!
Matthew celebrated his half birthday by having lunch with his friends at the black tables.
