We are off to a great first week of kindergarten! The students had a great time getting to know our classroom and their new friends! We spent much time learning the rules and routines of school and created art projects to help us remember.
Check it out!
To start our day, we had a 'Kick-Off Assembly' to welcome back all students and staff. We read 'Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten' and discussed how we all got ready for kindergarten. They did a great job! They enjoyed the fresh air and playing with their friends on the playground! To end the day, we were able to have playtime to give our brains a break from all of the learning we have been doing!
It was a busy day in kindergarten! We learned about the classroom library and practiced reading, and taking care of, books. We started our new math curriculum and explored our daily workplaces. We created a bus craft that will be on display in the hallway! We learned about using 'Marshmallow Toes' when walking in school. We made a craft to help us remember to always use our 'Marshmallow Toes'! We also created a Pigeon craft to go with the story The Pigeon HAS to Go to School. To end the day, we had PAWS Pride Stations and learned more about each place in school.
We created a pencil craft that will be on display in the hallway with our buses! We continued to explore our daily workplaces in math. We also made a 'Bucket of Fun' that will be displayed on the shared kindergarten bulletin board. To end the day, we had PAWS Pride Stations and learned more about each place in school.
We continued to practice reading, and taking care of, books. We were able to choose books from the classroom library to keep in our book bins. Mackenzie celebrated her birthday by having a special lunch at the black tables with her friends. We created a lion craft because we are 'Roaring into Kindergarten'.
