Second Week

During literacy, we have been learning about the Library Workstation, and today, we practiced Read to Self throughout the classroom.  We used our book bins and classroom library books to practice.  They did a great job finding places to read!

In literacy, we learned about the Writing Workstation.  We practiced writing words we found around the classroom on whiteboards.  We read It Looked Like Spilt Milk and created our very own cloud paintings, which will be made into a class book.  They loved painting their creations! 

Today, we learned about another literacy workstation: Word Work.  We worked in groups with alphabet puzzles.  We shared our 'All About Me' bags and learned SO much about our friends!

We learned about another literacy workstation: Read to Someone.  They loved sharing their books with their friends!   We continued to practice all workstations, and they are doing a great job learning with friends and love having the ability to choose!  We read the book 'We're All Wonders', and we drew a picture about what made us special.  Take a look at their drawings below!  The Campbellsport High School band came and performed several songs to showcase their music and program.

We have been working hard to show our PAWS Pride everywhere we go in school.  We have earned 3 little paws.  Once we have earned 20 little paws, we get a Big Paw and a classroom celebration!

We read The Little Engine That Could and made our very own trains, so when things get hard in kindergarten we can say 'I think I can, I think I can, I think I can', just like the The Little Blue Engine!
