Third Week

We started the week by learning about another literacy workstation: Word Work.  We worked in partners to match letters to alphabet strips.  We had a great time in gym with Mr. Luerhing!  They were able to learn how to play four square and reviewed the rules of Gaga Ball.  To end the day, we read The Little Engine That Could and made our very own trains, so when things get hard in kindergarten we can say 'I think I can, I think I can, I think I can', just like the The Little Blue Engine!  We began discussing the season of fall and will focus on fall changes all week.

We continued to practice the Word Work workstation by working in partners to match letters to alphabet strips.

In math, we worked on comparing two numbers and building a graph to show greater and less.  We continued to learn, and explore our Word Work workstation.  Games and puzzles were added for students to use, and we had a blast exploring them with our friends!  This choice allows students to work with letters and words to build their foundational reading and writing skills.

In math, we practiced counting quantities to ten by creating a 'My Fall Leaves Number Book.'  During literacy, we practiced our reading, writing, and word work workstations.  It was a beautiful fall day to play outside!

Take a look at what our favorite things in fall are!
