We started off Read Across America Week by reading schoolwide in the hallways. Makenzie and Aria celebrated a birthday and Positive Office Referral by having a special lunch with their friends at the black tables. To end the day, we made a flower craft, which will go on the bulletin board between the kindergarten rooms.
Today, we read The Lorax and made our very own Lorax. We had several special guest visitors. We had a visit from the Agricultural Ambassador and learned about farming, livestock, and crops of Wisconsin, specifically cows. We even got to try a dairy treat, string cheese! Marvin and Eleanor's grandma came in with Clover, the reading dog, to help us celebrate Read Across America Week.
We learned about our last kindergarten friend, Cash. To end the day, we were able to read with our classmates during Drop Everything and Read.
We created another Dr. Seuss character, Horton, from Horton Hears a Who. Hank celebrated his birthday by having lunch with his friends at the café tables. To end the day, we had a PAWS Pride Assembly.
