Third Week

We are beginning to learn about plants and gardens and made a watering can and flower craft.

Welcome to our Kinder 'Garden'!

To end the day, our school liaison, Officer Weed, and the K9 Training Officer for FDL County came to show us the training it takes to train a dog to be a K9 with the police department.  This fit perfectly with our One School, One Book: Fenway and Hattie!

In math, we played 'Spill the Beans' to find partners of 6 and 7.  This is a great way for them to work together and be hands-on in their learning!  We talked about the parts of a flower and made a craft where we made a flower and labeled its parts.  We have been learning a lot about plants and gardens so to end the day, we planted marigold seeds.  Everyone has their own PEAT pot, and we will be patiently waiting for them to sprout!

We discussed the needs of a plant and completed a project by labeling the needs of a plant: water, sunlight, air, soil.
