Second Week

Today, we finished our bus craft. They turned out super cute! Due to the rain, we had to play inside for recess, but they had a blast playing with the different toys and their friends. I began assessing them on their capital and lowercase letters, letter sounds, and numbers. They are doing a great job showing me what they know!

Today, we unscrambled our names and put our letters in order. They then drew a picture of themselves doing something they enjoy. (Take a look below!) They loved this project! We read 'Chrysanthemum' and made glitter names to show how special we all are!

Today we read the book 'We're All Wonders', and we drew a picture about what made us special. Take a look at their drawings below! We also began our pre-writing unit, and the students practiced making shapes, lines, and dots. This will help them to make pictures as we continue throughout this mini unit. Our glitter names joined our crayons on the bulletin board!

We ended the week by working with partners to match letters to alphabet strips. We also worked on putting the alphabet in order. We worked on an 'All About Me' book. We also read 'It Looked Like Spilt Milk' and created our very own cloud paintings, which will be made into a class book. They loved painting their creations!
