Fourth Week

In math, we began working with numbers 1 - 10. We worked to see groups of numbers and arrange the groups in different ways. We learned about our second Daily 5 Choice: Work on Writing. We worked to write our names the 'kindergarten way' with the help of a monster name writing sheet. We also began an 'I like...' book where students will write about all the things they like.

Today, we practiced our choices Read to Self and Work on Writing. We learned, and practiced, the letter 'U'. We listened, and watched, 'Vowel Bat' because letter 'U' is a vowel. We are beginning to write true stories during writing, and they are doing a great job writing stories about things they have done/happened to them! In science, we talked about the seasons and began a book about how trees look through the seasons. We ended our day playing a letter game.

In math, we continued to work with the numbers 1 - 10 by seeing, and arranging, groups. We also practiced writing the numbers 1, 2, and 3. Numbers 2 and 3 were tricky for some, and we are going to continue to practice. We practiced our choices Read to Self and Work on Writing. They are doing a great job making their choices and knowing their jobs for each!

In math, they were given time to freely use their counting mats, number tiles, and colored squares. We created a pumpkin craft for our shared kindergarten bulletin board. They loved the craft and did a great job completing it! To end our day, we had a PAWS Pride assembly and showed our school spirit. Congratulations to our Kindergarten Student of the Month: Olivia!
