Read Across America Week is off to a great start! We made Thing 1 and Thing 2, along with a Cat in the Hat hat. We had a PAWS Pride Assembly in the gym, and the kindergarten hallway earned the Golden Dust pan for keeping their hallway the cleanest!
We had two guest readers, Mia's Aunt Angel and Mrs. Rettler! It is always fun to be read to by others! We read The Lorax and made our very own Lorax. We created Truffula Trees by crinkling tissue paper. Our Truffula Trees and Lorax art decorate the hallway!
We had a guest reader, Mia's cousin Ivy! Aubrey celebrated her 1/2 birthday lunch with friends at the black tables. Aubrey brought back magnets for her friends from her Florida trip. Thanks Aubrey! In math, we played 'Spill the Beans' and worked on writing partners of 10.
It was a beautiful, sunny day to play outside in the snow! To get ready for St. Patrick's Day, we made leprechaun hats. We had a guest reader, Mrs. Rettler! To end our day, we went on our field trip to CHS. We learned about plant parts, listened to a story, and planted zinnia seeds. Our plants will stay in the greenhouse, and we will get updates on their growth.
We had two guest readers, Cora's sister Nadya and Mr. Luehring! We chose decorating cookies as our Big Paw celebration. We frosted and sprinkled sugar cookies for a special treat! To end the day, we went into the hallway and DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) as a whole school.
