Mission: WisconSibs, Inc (formerly known as Fox Valley Sibling Support Network) is dedicated to children, teens, and adults who have siblings with disabilities. We aim to help siblings feel less isolated and more empowered when it comes to unique issues they care about as siblings. Whether they are involved as a child, teen or adult, WisconSibs programs focus on siblings networking with others who share similar joys and concerns and connecting with sources of information they need in their unique roles.

Clientele: WisconSibs, Inc serves children, teens and adults who have siblings with disabilities or long-term illnesses. We also provide parents and professionals information, consultation, and presentations.

Services: We create and deliver programs for children, teens and adults that connect siblings of people with disabilities with each other and with resources needed in their unique role. We provide Sibshops for ages 6-12, teen leadership training and camp experiences, peer support and future planning for adults, presentations on sibling issues, advocacy, and social activities.

Internship description (120 hours): A resume and cover letter are required. Information will be provided by the site.

Job Overview: WisconSibs is looking for an intern to help with marketing communications as it builds awareness of its new brand and expands throughout the state of Wisconsin.

WisconSibs has an opportunity to help develop your communications skills while working in a nonprofit setting. The duties and responsibilities of this job include:

  • · Carry out a content marketing strategy for ongoing WisconSibs programs, including writing newsletter articles, blog posts, informational flyers, brochures etc.

  • · Shoot and edit short videos for Facebook and other uses

  • · Publish a bi-monthly newsletter (SibNews)(assist in copywriting, editing, proofing and distribution)

  • · Social media content development and analytics

  • · Develop and execute promotion for special events and fundraisers

  • · Update website (Wordpress), social media

  • · Organize social and information gatherings for parents, siblings, professionals, etc.

  • · Schedule speaking engagements and media appearances

  • · Update database and create reports

  • · Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications: We ask that an intern is able to work 10 hours per week between the hours of 9 am - 4 pm. Some events will occur on weekends. Understand Microsoft Suite and WordPress. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Advanced Internship description (280 hours): A resume and cover letter are required. Information will be provided by the site.

Same as Internship, plus:

  • · Develop and execute events, including conferences, seminars, and fundraisers

  • · Develop and analyze program evaluations

Job Qualifications: We ask that an intern is able to work between the hours of 9 am - 4 pm. Some events will occur on weekends. Understand Microsoft Suite and WordPress. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Availability: Fall, Spring, Summer, Days, Weekends
