Mission: The Crossing is committed to helping women and families who are or could be affected by an unexpected pregnancy to become complete and productive members of society by restoring their whole being. The Crossing believes that restoring the whole person involves the nurturing and growing of each woman and family to restore physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Our programs hold rue tour foundational beliefs and help meet the needs of those we are dedicated to serve.
Clientele: Women, men, and children
Services: Medical Clinic: Pregnancy testing and verification. Limited OB Ultrasound. Adoption alternative, abortion risks, STI testing. Main Center: Counseling services, earn while you learn education program, boutique and pantry services. Prevention Education: our program material helps kids build a tool box of skills for healthy relationships, preparing them to make good choices: "Decide, Don't Slide". We'll promote development of Skills-communication, self-esteem, boundaries; Focus-influences of media, family, and friends; Goals: achieving future hopes and dreams.
Internship Description (120 Hours): Client Advocate Responsibilities: Provide crisis intervention for each client in an atmosphere of warmth and compassion through listening and other helping skills; provide accurate information and education on abortion; provide information on parenting and adoption; offer appropriate information on client's situation and material resources and referrals; follow-up per policies and guidelines; keep up-to-date on statistics and information relating to pregnancy, abortion, and adoption
