Mission: To provide safe, adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity, and a suitable living environment free from discrimination and to provide owners and developers with an opportunity to rehabilitate and develop affordable housing.

Clientele: Eligible individuals and families, most often low to very low income families including single parent households, refugee families, households with a disabled family member, and employed households earning below a living wage.

Services: The Housing Authority serves as the region’s largest provider of affordable housing, maintaining over 650 public housing units that house over 2000 residents, administering over 300 housing choice vouchers to assist families with rent in the private market, coordinating a family self-sufficiency program and facilitating Winnebago County's main home ownership support program.

Internship Description (120 Hours): As a human service intern with the Oshkosh/Winnebago County Housing Authority, you will work with our family housing programs and our Family Self Sufficiency program to improve and expand the services offered to families throughout Winnebago County. You will greatly expand your knowledge of housing assistance programs and services while providing assistance to Housing Authority staff with the implementation of programs designed to help families meet their needs, including housing, home management, home ownership, financial management, education achievement, career advancement and more.

Advanced Internship Description (280 Hours): As a human service intern with the Oshkosh/Winnebago County Housing Authority, you will work with our family housing programs and our Family Self Sufficiency program to improve and expand the services offered to families throughout Winnebago County.
