Mission: To recruit families and provide a comprehensive child development program for their 3 and 4 year old children, in preparation for kindergarten.

Clientele: ADVOCAP Head Start serves low income families whose income meets 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. .

Services: Voluntary case management, connections to resources in the community, assistance with employment and educational opportunities. Head Start also offers free swimming lessons , passes to city pools, and assistance with summer recreation programs (fees). Head Start also offers numerous parent programs, support groups, and family activities in the areas of art, music, and literacy activities.

Internship Description (120 Hours): Helps to plan, implement, supervise and evaluate programs and activities provided in the areas of healthy lifestyles, character and leadership, education and career development and family strengthening. May work with you in one on one and group situations.

Advanced Internship Description (280 Hours): Recruit and enroll families, interview parents and complete family partnership plan (case plan), assist with programs and activities and assist in classrooms when needed. Attend community collaboration meetings and assist families with access to community resources. Attend agency meetings, staff meetings, and trainings.
