Mission: Improving lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.
Clientele: JDRF exists for the millions of children, adults, and families affected by type 1 diabetes.
Services: The local chapter provides free educational materials, resources and events to support those impacted by type 1 diabetes. Along with this we have fundraising events to support our mission and advocacy work to meet with elected Members of Congress to form relationships and to ensure the needs of the T1D community are top-of-mind.
Internship Description (120 Hours):
Duties:
Learn about JDRF and the inner works of a National Non-profit organization
Engagement in chapter event activities which include opportunities to help organize the event, assist with connecting with participants, and helping day of with the logistics
Participate in answering phones and other chapter duties
Work with volunteers in the office and at events
Participate in Board Meetings and outside company meetings
Learn about type 1 diabetes, the impact that diabetes has on families and individuals
Champion a project during your internship. You will be given a couple of different ideas to choose from for your project.
Advanced Internship Description (280 Hours):

Learn about constituent management systems and other software used by JDRF
Leadership Experience:
Champion 2 projects during your internship
Contact with businesses, donors, and volunteers
Learn about other non-profit organizations and what they have to offer
