Mission: To serve out clients with professional, quality and cost-effective services that focus on prevention, protection, mental health, family integration, self-determination and recovery with respect . for and in partnership with individuals, families, caregivers and the community.

Child Welfare Division: To ensure the safety and well-being of the community, in accordance with federal and state mandates, by assisting children and families to utilize their strengths, family supports, and community resources.

Clientele: Children or families when child abuse & neglect has been alleged and then has been determined to have happened or is at high risk for occurring. Services are also provided to children and parents when it has been determined that the children have special needs that the parent is unable to meet.

Services: Partner with families to resolve their problems so they can maintain care of their children or resume care of their children. If it is not possible to return children to the care of their parents, then to find an alternate, permanent home for them. Associated with this role, the OCM must do a thorough assessment of the family to determine what their needs are, formulate with the family a case plan, assist with setting up and monitoring needed services, monitor children's placements for safety and well-being, attend court hearings, complete agency and court reports, advocate for the family when appropriate, etc. Home Consultant's offer supervised visitation, parenting education, daily life skills education, housing assistance, employment assistance to the families we serve.

Internship Description (120 Hours): The intern will observe during the first month and then get hands on learning with client meetings, documentation, resources and supervised visits for the next two months.

Advanced Internship Description (280 Hours): The intern will observe and have hands on learning the first two months and then will independently work with client if approved by the County supervisor during the third month.
