Clientele: County residents-- youth grades K-12, families/parents, and community organizations

Services: In and out-of school classes, conferences, educational activities and travel, workshops, expositions and camps.

Internship Description (120 Hours):

The student will experience program planning, evaluation and an independent work environment while facilitating summer and/or after school programming in multiple school districts and/ or programs. Curriculum topics include but not limited to: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, (STEM), Arts, Animal Science, Communications, Foods & Nutrition, Natural Resources, and Leadership. This position will offer interns a flexible work schedule consisting of office hours, summer hours, after school programs and occasional evening/weekend activities.

Advanced Internship Description (280 Hours):

The student will experience program planning, evaluation, and an independent work environment while facilitating summer and/or after school programming in multiple school districts and / or programs. Additional responsibilities include creating, organizing, and delivering county-wide youth events. These events are the intern’s special projects and have the potential for a wide range of topic and platform applications. The intern would work with and be supported/supervised by the 4-H Program Coordinator and the Youth & Science Educator at UW-Extension in these job duties, though the intern must be confident giving direct delivery in a classroom setting. Summer and after school curriculum topics include but are not limited to; Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, (STEM), Arts, Animal Science, Communications, Foods & Nutrition, Natural Resources, and Leadership. This position will offer interns a flexible work schedule consisting of office hours, summer, after school programs, and occasional evening/weekend activities. It includes an approximate time commitment of approx. three hours, four times a week and possible nights and weekends, in addition to office hours. If the intern is not able to commit to 3 hours, fours times a week to be devoted to summer/after-school programming they will not be eligible for the position.

Leadership experience: Working with youth independently in a small to large group setting.
