Services: Community Action for Healthy Living, Inc. is a community based organization that uses education, local and statewide policy, and our member's expertise to reduce the number of people harmed by tobacco. CAHL partners with community organizations, educational institutions, businesses and law enforcement organizations to address tobacco related issues.
Internship Description (120 Hours):
The internship position at Community Action for Healthy Living, Inc. offers students and recent graduates an opportunity to assist with leadership and community based projects around policy, advocacy (local and state-wide) and education. Duties may include one or more of the following assignments, depending upon an intern's interest and experience level:
Assist in educating the public to the dangers of tobacco and nicotine use and exposure to secondhand smoke
Assist in movement toward local and statewide policies
Conduct community research
Assess Local Retail Environment for tobacco/alcohol/nutrition exposure, access and compliance
Provide community outreach on prevention initiatives
Give local informational presentations on tobacco and E-cigarettes
Assist in educating the public to the dangers of tobacco and nicotine use and exposure to secondhand smoke
Manage organizations Facebook page and Website
Participate in activities to reduce youth access to tobacco products
