Internship Description (120 Hours): Volunteer Coordinator Intern Job Description
Position: Volunteer Coordinator Intern
Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator or other staff as designated
Position Description:
Will assist Volunteer Coordinator in managing volunteers and growing volunteer base.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with recruiting of individuals and groups to volunteer with Habitat.
• Coordinate schedules to meet the needs of the affiliate and the volunteer.
• Build relationships in order to retain regular volunteers.
• Follow up with volunteers about interest and availability.
• Assist with volunteer recognition program.
• Assist with other special projects as needed by the agency and to meet the goals and interests of the intern.
Construction Site Specific:
• Serve as site host at construction site by greeting volunteers and handling all registration/paperwork.
• Coordinate lunches for build site volunteers and staff.
ReStore Specific:
• Lead volunteer orientations and update volunteer policies as necessary.
• Assist in duties of store operation including cashiering, pricing, and organizing donations.
• Lead volunteer groups in work around the ReStore.
Desired Skills/Experience:
• Experience organizing, inspiring, and leading others.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Position: Family Services Intern
Reports to: Family Services Coordinator
Position Description:
Will assist Family Services Coordinator through family application and family support process.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in creatively recruiting qualified applicants as Habitat for Humanity partner families.
• Explain Habitat’s homeowner requirements.
• Assist families in completion of applications, financial counseling, and homebuyer education courses.
• Maintain contact with family during construction process and beyond.
• Network with a variety of human services organizations in Oshkosh.
• Assist with other special projects as needed by the agency and to meet the goals and interests of the intern.
Desired Skills/Experience:
• Experience working with low-income families.
• Knowledge of local community resources.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and multitask.

• Assist Resource Development coordinator with donor prospecting and stewardship, planning of fundraising events, and writing of grants.

• Monitor and assess website and social media presence for optimal functionality, timeliness, and accuracy.
• Assist with creation and carrying out of marketing plan.
• Assist with print marketing and brand awareness.
• Create posters, videos, and other items as necessary.
• Assist with event planning.
