Clientele: Persons with developmental disabilities or mental illness who are at least 18 years old.
Services: Pre-vocational and Adult Day Services.
Internship Description (120 Hours): Experiences are available in day-to-day operations including the provision of pre-vocational and adult day service activities. Students will follow the Adult Services program schedule mentored by AS staff. Supervision will be provided by the Adult Services Manager and Coordinator. Students will work on documents recording codes and planned activities. AS activities will include providing assistance and planning for in-house activities like art, craft and music, as well as community activities including swimming and bowling. Students will provide pre-vocational training in developing occupational skills and strengths. In addition, students will attend staff and case management meetings. They will be paired with individual workers to help develop and identify supports to make suggestions to the interdisciplinary team.
Advanced Internship Description (280 Hours): In addition to the information above, the student will job shadow case management staff to learn about services and supports the Agency provides its associates. They will participate in planning meetings, writing case notes, attending pre-intake interview assessments, perform administrative tasks, and other projects assigned by the Adult Services Coordinator.
