Outreach, psychoeducational groups, presentations, data collections, research, consultations, resource mapping, networking and collaborating with community agencies, mental health screening, and prevention.

Internship Description: Please provide student assignments, activities and learning opportunities available for each field experience the agency offers.

This will be an opportunity to assist with suicide prevention efforts at Neenah Joint School District. The intern will be asked to do research on best practices in suicide prevention to understand the rationale for the work to be done. The internship will include co-leading psycho educational groups, developing mindfulness exercises, assisting in development of presentations for students and staff, attending observations of students w/behavioral or mental health concerns, and other duties as assigned. This internship is an opportunity for anyone interested in working with children and families. By the end of the internship, one should have a greater awareness about the mental health needs of children and their families; greater knowledge about the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences; and will be able to determine effective interventions and educational programs.
