Bor
Bor
Eternel solitaire, masse formidable,

The Pine
Towering solemn, joyless he's stood
As nameless as the grass in the field
A mountain spring’s wail within his wood
And a jackdaw asleep at night concealed
Always alone, a most fearsome tree
As soon as the sun begins to shine
Projects the shade of his misery
Down the enlightened mountain decline
And at night he starts to flutter sidewise
Once certain the pain cannot intrude
Then he spends the night telling the skies
Tales of the land’s bitter solitude
(translated by Gavrilo Stanojevic)
Golem i mračan, neveselo, Stoji, bezimen kao travka; U njemu huči gorsko vrelo I noću prespi jedna čavka.
Usamljen večno, strašna grmen,
U prvi sunčev trenut sjanja,
Niz ozarenu baci strmen
Crnu sen svoga očajanja.
A noću nebu zavihori,
Kad zna da bolno sve zanemlje -
I zvezdama po svu noć zbori
Gorke samoće ove zemlje
