Hello,
Yesterday and today, speculative articles about Hanni’s residency status in Korea have flooded in, spreading false information. We want to clarify the facts.
Hanni received a new visa yesterday (February 11) through proper legal procedures.
ADOR pressured Hanni and her parents by exploiting the sensitive issue of visas, which is naturally a critical matter for foreign residents in Korea. They sent an email stating that if they did not agree to sign an extension consent form listing ADOR as her agency, she could become an illegal resident. Furthermore, they submitted personal documents that required Hanni’s signature to the relevant authorities without her consent and only notified her afterward—actions that are incomprehensible by common sense.
Some media outlets have irresponsibly used the term “illegal resident” without verification, fueling false rumors and even prompting unnecessary complaints. These outlets cited anonymous “music industry insiders” to report on Hanni’s visa status—information that can only be accessed through personal records. While ADOR stated in today’s reports that they were “unable to confirm” the visa details, the initial articles claimed that “ADOR had prepared all necessary documents for Hanni’s visa extension, but she refused to sign.”
In just two days, around 70 speculative articles have been published, reporting unauthorized details such as Hanni’s visa type and expiration date, causing severe violations of her rights. We express deep regret that private information, which only ADOR could have access to, has been irresponsibly leaked and spread through the media.
The unauthorized use or disclosure of personal information is unacceptable, and it is also a serious issue that some media outlets have published reports without properly verifying the facts. There have already been concerning incidents where private information about members was used to track their travel records, and the situation is escalating. To protect the members, we are considering legal action.
Thank you for reading this long message. We sincerely apologize to our fans for any worry or discomfort this may have caused. Please take care of your health.
Thank you.
