Isabella | Manalapan High School, Grade 11
Rating: ****
If you are desperately wanting a continuation to the intense story of The Thousandth Floor, then its sequel, The Dazzling Heights by Katharine McGee is for you. The entrance of the new character, Calliope, brings an interesting twist to the story since she is hiding her entire identity from anyone she meets. Rylin's school life changes dramatically when she receives a scholarship to attend Berkeley School. She soon discovers that her ex-boyfriend Cord also attends the school, leading to more complications in her new life. Avery is still struggling with her forbidden romance involving her step-brother, Atlas. She suspects that her father has knowledge of her relationship since he wants to send Atlas to Dubai. After Eris's death, Leda becomes more and more paranoid about the truth coming out so she consults Wyatt for help. A romantic relationship kindles from the both of them, making the situation all the more complicated.
I feel that this story was a really good bridge between the first installment and the last one. I liked the new character addition which helped with the story development.
