For fans of Cassandra Clare’s award-winning and best-selling Shadowhunter novels comes the second installment of the Infernal Devices. Set in 1800s London, Tessa Gray still has a lot to uncover about her past. The Magister is trying to get a hold of her at all costs, and she still doesn’t know why. Meanwhile, Will seeks the help of an old friend to try to learn more about himself and his past. When unexpected information comes up, Will opens up to Tessa and Tessa is forced to make a hard choice. However, the Magister makes his move and stocks up on all of the Yin Fen that Jem needs in order to live. He demands that Tessa be delivered to him in exchange for the drug that could save Jem’s life. Tessa wants to go, but Jem won’t allow her to sacrifice herself for him. What will Tessa do? Find out Cassandra Clare’s Clockwork Prince.
You already know that I am one of Cassandra Clare’s biggest fans, and that The Mortal Instruments was an amazing series. Believe me when I tell you that The Infernal Devices is even better. Everything from Tessa’s witty remarks to Will’s sultry mood will keep you reading. The characters are so unique and lovable that you’ll even love Jessamine, who is quite disagreeable. The plot is immaculate and there are so many twists and turns that you won’t expect. I don’t care where you are or what you’re doing: stop reading this review and go and find the book at the library or the bookstore.

Clockwork Prince is the second book in the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. After the events in Clockwork Angel, the London Institute is being closely watched and Charlotte Branwell is put to figure out the Magister’s next movement in the next two weeks. Theresa “Tessa” Gray, William “Will” Herondale, James “Jem” Carstairs, Henry Branwell, and sometimes Jessamine “Jessie” Lovelace do everything they can to help Charlotte, even go to places like Yorkshire. Tessa is left to figure out how she was “made” as the Magister put it, while she and Will try to avoid each other and try to forget what happened on the rooftop. Will tries to get rid of his curse but when he learns the truth, he is too late to do anything about it. In the end, they all learn about the Magister’s past, lose a loved one, and gain more happiness.
Just as the other Shadowhunter based book, this one had many twists and turns that made it a great book but there were still times where I just wanted to skip to get to another part in the book. To be honest though, there were times that I kinda went through a couple of pages and read ahead, that’s kinda why I wanted to skip a part of the book to get to another part.
