The novel, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is about a gang called the Greasers who are at fault with another gang: the Soc’s. The main character, Ponyboy, is a greaser who runs away with Johnny after getting slapped by his older brother Darry. They go through a series of adventures to try to stay in hiding from past violent crimes they committed. On these adventures, they go on a journey to find their true selves and to realize that they aren’t that different from the Soc’s.
I really. really enjoyed this novel. I’ve reread it a bunch of times because the plot is just so action-packed. There are so many hidden lessons in this novel that are really worth the read.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about adventures on finding your true self. This book’s message has stuck with me since seventh grade and it’s probably one of my favorite books.

The Outsiders is a book based on how S.E. Hinton saw the world when she was 15 years old. The book is set in the 1960s in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where S.E. Hinton grew up. The social divisions inspired Hinton to write The Outsiders. So there were multiple teen gangs, the Socs, who lived on the west side of town, are rich, sophisticated antagonists, and the Greasers, who lived on the east side of town, are poor, “thugs”, and the protagonists. The Socs and Greasers are rivals. The Greasers include the three Curtis brothers, Darry, Sodapop, and Ponyboy, Dallas Winston, Johnny Cade, Two-Bit Mattews, and Steve Randle. After a serious jumping, Ponyboy and Johnny are forced to go into hiding with the help of Dallas. I thought that this book was okay, it was better than a lot of books I’ve read. I thought that the ending was a bit cheesy but other than that everything else was well explained and detailed.

The Outsiders is a novel about two rival groups, called the Greasers and Socs. The Greasers live on the poor side of town, while the Socs are from the rich part of town. Both groups have issues of their own, and can never seem to join together. Since the beginning, they have been rivals, which led them to have several fights. The main character is a Greaser, named Ponyboy Curtis. He and his two brothers live together alone because they had recently lost their parents. Along with the other characters, Ponyboy has struggles of his own in a society where he believes he is an outsider. Ponyboy and his friends meet two Socs girls, which will be the start of many problems. Read "The Outsiders" to find out what will happen to Ponyboy and the struggles he has to face.
I loved this book and strongly recommend it to teenagers and young adults. It depicts the inner struggles of what many teens face today. Along with relating to teenage readers, this book has many ups and downs and twists and turns. The characters go through so much and every page has me wanting to keep reading. This book is definitely one of the best.

The book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is about a boy named Quentin Jacobson. Quentin has been admiring the Margo Roth Spiegelman who lived next door. Margo was always very suspicious. One night Margo even went next door to Quentin’s house and asked if he would go on an adventure with her. On the adventure, they were both doing things that they knew they shouldn’t be doing. However, Quentin kept going because he was so in love with Margo. The next morning after the adventure, Margo was nowhere to be found and was not in school. Quinten was very concerned and was determined to find her.
In my opinion, I did not like this book. I thought that there were just too many events going on. Even though the parts were interesting, I found the overall book to be boring. I think that to improve they can focus on one event and have fewer characters.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is one of the best young adult books. The book follows the story of a boy named Ponyboy who is part of a gang in the sixties. He was part of a group called the greasers who were rivals with another group called the socials. The greasers were not as luxurious and rich as the socials. After one incident in which his friend Johnny commits a heinous crime, they are forced to run away. After this a lot of other major incidents occur that throw ponyboy and his gang into mass chaos.
This book is great and provides everything one looks for in a novel. There is a romantic aspect in the book, a friendship aspect, and even a family aspect. This book also addresses a lot of important themes and life lessons. I would recommend this book to every teen because it is interesting and it addresses a multitude of important themes.
