This book is about a woman named Rachel whose daughter is kidnapped. Rachel receives a phone call telling her that she is now part of The Chain. The only way to get her daughter back is to pay a ransom, kidnap another child, and keep that child until his/her parents kidnap someone else. Rachel must follow all directions of The Chain, or else her and her daughter will be in even more danger.

I liked this book and would recommend it to another person. It has an interesting plot and I like the characters. The only thing I would prefer is if the book were not two parts. They felt almost disconnected and I thought that they should be separate books. I did like the ending, however, because it was surprising and unexpected.
