The Egypt Game by Zilpha Keatley Snyder follows the story of a girl named April Hall. April is staying with her grandmother while her mother is pursuing her acting career with her boyfriend. April then meets her neighbors Marshall and Melanie Ross. They liked to play games and both were fascinated by ancient Egypt. They started imitating rituals and traditions that the Ancient Egyptians did and made it into their new game. The game was fun for a while and more people joined, but things started taking a bad turn when a girl was murdered in the neighborhood.
This book was kind of boring at the beginning, but gradually became more and more interesting. This book is definitely not for everyone. It doesn’t have as much action as other books, but it has a very intriguing plot. I would recommend this book to teens who are interested in books with mysterious and interesting storylines.
