In Quests for Glory, the fourth book in Soman Chainani’s bestselling series, “The School for Good and Evil,” Agatha and her friends are now fourth years, which means that they now have quests around the woods. While the coven travels the woods in search of a new School Master (since they helped kill the last one) and Sophie is Dean of the School for Evil, redecorating Evil and making it the next big thing, Tedros is shutting Agatha out. After a failed coronation ceremony and a nearly decrepit Camelot, Tedros is left with no money and no support. Plus, if you thought that wasn’t bad enough, a new force stronger and worse than both Good and Evil threatens the woods.
Quests for Glory has everything a fantasy enthusiast could ask for: strategy, royalty, magic, and plenty of fight scenes. The story took sharp turns and unexpected twists, which I thought really made the story shine. The only thing I didn’t love about the book was that the beginning was a little bit slow, but I’ll give it five stars, because once it really starts up, which isn’t that far ahead, the story gets very fast-paced.
