Allegiant is the third book in the series that starts with Divergent and Insurgent. The story starts with Tris, the main character, being imprisoned for her treasonous behavior in the previous book. For those of you who didn't read it, her crime is attacking someone in an attempt to stop them from killing one of their enemies. Her faction leaders assume she must have been in league with their enemies (which she of course was), and send her off to be tried with the other traitors. That brings us to the beginning of Allegiant, where she is being tried in a rather unconventional way. They inject her with a truth serum, but little do they know she is immune, so she lies anyway and gets herself out of prison. Then she sets her attention on breaking out of the larger prison, the walled city she's spent her whole life trapped in. But what she discovers outside is not what she expected, and shatters everything she thought she knew. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone interested in science fiction. I gave it a five out of five because it was very exciting and fun to read.
