This book is about a family, the Sandersons, who moves to a small town. Their nosy neighbor, a former cop, knows there is something off about this family. It turns out that the Sandersons are under federal protection and have many enemies looking for them. This book follows the Sandersons' struggle to stay safe and protected while danger is present at every turn.

I strongly disliked this book. I chose to read it because I liked the author but was very disappointed in the plot. It was extremely boring until the very ending. It felt like the events of the plot were too trite and unimportant. There was nothing that really drew my attention and made me want to continue reading. One thing I did like, though, is that the point of view shifted between characters. Readers were able to understand the book through the opinions and actions of multiple characters, which I always like in a book. However, I felt it was a little underdeveloped because not all of the characters were particularly important to the plot. Overall, I expected more from this book and was disappointed with how the events of it transpired.
