*SPOILER FOR THE HUNGER GAMES AND CATCHING FIRE*
In the last book of the Hunger Games trilogy, Katniss is overwhelmed by the new revolution unfolding. Her home was destroyed and Gale has escaped. Her family is safe, but Peeta has been taken by the Capitol. District 13 wasn’t just a legend. There are new rebels and leaders, Katniss being one of them. This entire time, Katniss has been a significant part of the rebellion without even knowing it. Now, it’s success depends on how willing Katniss is to be a pawn, disregarding her anger and misgivings. She is the Mockingjay, and countless lives are now in her hands.
Unfortunately, I do not think that this book lived up to the two that came before it in the series. In the middle, it did start to drag a little bit, and although the epilogue was sweet, it was not all that satisfactory. Other than that, Suzanne perfectly depicted how horrifying and painful Katniss’s life was. We could never even begin to imagine being in her position but the author makes it seem so real, and for that reason, this series will continue to be one of my favorites.
