Harry Potter and the Scorer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

Rating: ***

The novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling is about a young boy, Harry, who was left as an orphan as a young baby. He was left as an orphan when his parents were killed by a wizard who also attempted to kill him. This attempted murder leaves Harry with his infamous scar on his forehead. He discovers his magic in wizardry when he turns eleven after he receives a letter from Hogwarts.

The only criticism I have for this book would be to start with the backstory sooner. I felt like the beginning was really dragged on. But other than that, I really enjoyed this book! I actually reread it about three or four times!

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading series that are action packed but do not require a heavy level of comprehension, given the fact that most people read these books when they are young. It was a really fun read and left me excited for the books in the series that follow.

This fantasy novel is about a young boy, Harry Potter, who grew up in his abusive aunt and uncle’s house since he was a baby after he mysteriously left at their doorstep. By the time he became eleven years old, he met a man named Hagrid, who told him he is a wizard. Harry is shocked, and suddenly welcomed into the world of magic. In order to learn how to control and use his magical powers, he joins the wizarding school of magic, Hogwarts, where he makes new friends and enemies.

Since I was a child, I really enjoyed this book and the other books that followed! I admire the friendships of Harry, Hermione, and Ron as they went through many adventures together. Every chapter, I wondered what would happen next. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading series that include magic and action-packed sequences.
