Night by Elie Wiesel is Mr. Wiesel's Autobiography, detailing his experience in the Nazi death camps. It is one of the most powerful books I have read, using Mr. Wiesel's words to truly show the horror and despair of the Holocaust. The book talks about how he was shuffled around between the different camps, but every camp had one thing in common: the endless brutality. Millions of Jewish people were forced into horrible, inhumane conditions. The book takes the experiences of one man and shows just how bad it was. Mr. Wiesel endured starvation, beatings, and the uncertainty of whether he would become fuel for the crematorium next. This book is difficult to read because it does such a good job of opening your eyes to the true extent of the Holocaust. Rating it like any other book is hard; I did not enjoy reading it, but enjoyment was not the purpose of this book. This book is a warning for future generations that we must never forget the atrocities of the past lest they repeat themselves.
